There is a Concessionary Taxi Travel Scheme operating across Northumberland

If you are eligible you can receive £50 worth of taxi tokens which can be used like cash on taxis. There is a £10 charge for these.

The tokens can be used for taxi trips to the shops, GP and hospital appointments, or to visit relatives and friends.

To be eligible you must meet all of the following criteria:

•Be resident in the country

•Be eligible for a disabled persons bus pass but unable to use a bus due to disability

•Have no access to a car-defined as living in a household without a car and not holding a Blue Badge

•In receipt of one of the following means-tested benefits:

•Pension CreditIncome SupportIncome based Jobseekers

•Income related Employment and Support Allowance

•Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

•Child Tax Credit (with certain restrictions)

•Working Tax Credit (with certain restrictions)
