Jumpsuit and harness on and ready to walk the walk of fear ( so they call the walk to the plane ) the instructors and students all of good humour, climbed aboard and up to 10000ft,as we reached 8000ft the pilot cut out the engine,then light...ly said " oh oh....jokin " still no nerves,still smiling as my instructor joked at the amount of give on my harness and played and joked about with the clips that attached me to him.10000ft feet reached and the door opened, my camera man sat at the side of the door as we shuffled forward, at this point your leaning back on your instructor,still no nerves,as we leaned forward to go this is when i was sure they would kick in...i was face to face with the ground,in freefall position and dropping at 126mph i saw my camera man in front of me, i wondered,why am i blowing kisses,waving and giving this guy the thumbs up, i should b worrying...the exhilaration at dropping at such speed wasnt there, it felt slow, was it noisy ? it didnt seem that way, not until my parachute opened at 5000ft..then all went silent, floating gently as i watched the camera man drop like a bomb to the ground, my one fear kicked in, i thought the guy was going to die..his parachute opening at 3000ft phew ! Resumes the peace and calm in my mind and back to floating the intructor asks if i want to do some turns..oh yes, the highspeed twists and turns you feel on a fast rollercoaster.I took control of the parachute as he loosened the straps ready for landing,a gentle landing slowly turning a few times, to land in the direct spot right in front of the cameraman ready for my landing interview..haha pls give me chance to get this silly hat off !! A huge hug and whispers for my instructor, he was fantastic..then onto a rather girly giggly, still buzzing interview....amazing experience, would i do it again ? Damn right...would love to freefall longer
