Erskine URC

Our church was founded in 1776 and has witnessed many changes within denominations. It began as a small brick built house on the site it stands on today, which was converted to be a Protestant Dissenting Meeting House. In 1972 it became a United Reformed Church, bringing together Presbyterians and Congregationalists. It is the only church still standing in Belford representing the Presbyterian Reformed Tradition.

During the last year we have been researching 'Belford's Dissenting History' From May 2014 the hall and church will be open daily, where you can find out more about the history of Erskine URC and The Ferguson Hall. There will be information display panels in the hall, which depict some colourful and interesting characters that have been associated with the church, Belford or dissenting times. The new church

history book is also available. Visitors are very welcome, evening viewings can be arranged.

The Ferguson Hall was opened in 1905 and has served the church and local community since it began. There is a large hall which seats 80 quite comfortably, a fitted kitchen, and disabled access toilets. Many local groups use it on a regular basis and is available for bookings, Please contact Audrey Thomson 01668213520 or
