Visiting Belford

Belford is an ancient village situated in North Northumberland. In the centre of the village you will find Market Square and its medieval cross.

Situated in North Northumberland

Situated in the North Northumberland countryside, Belford is great for cycling or walking holidays and is just a short distance from the Northumberland coast and the coastal villages of Bamburgh (5 miles) and Seahouses (8.5 miles).

The Holy Island of Lindisfarne can be seen from the top of the north bank (see photo at top of page) and is within easy reach of Belford.

There are many golf courses in and around north Northumberland, including the 9 hole golf course at the Belford Golf Club (currently unavailable).

The village is just off the A1, 15 miles South of Berwick and 50 miles North of Newcastle, and is served by the 501/505 Arriva bus service which runs between Newcastle Haymarket Bus Station and Berwick Rail Station via Alnwick and the coast.
